MSc student

In EVE: 2026-03 – 2027-03

Emilie is a Msc student currently pursuing her masters in infection biology in the EVE group at Swiss TPH.

Her master’s thesis project focuses on the evolution of enteroviruses. More specifically, the non-coding regions of the enterovirus genome and how their evolution could impact the virulence and spread of these viruses. She will also investigate the secondary structure of these untranslated regions and if as well as how these differ between species. These phylogenetic analyses will be conducted using nextstrain as well as other bioinformatic tools.
